Using Blogger has given me a completely new view on the internet. Before having to do this bridging unit I had never heard of, let alone used Blogger before.
I really liked using Blogger, it was extremely easy to use and I enjoyed recording my thoughts and views on different pieces of media.
I found the task quite challenging but I did thoroughly like doing these assignments and I like being pushed to my full potential.

What is your biggest makeup disaster?
"Claudia Winkleman handled her evil eyeliner moment at the recent GQ awards with guts. But is it possible to avoid such horrors?"
This particular story on the Media Guardian is about how Claudia Winkleman had an eyeliner tragedy whilst at the GQ awards. The writer of the article talks about how Claudia put on a brave face and embraced the eyeliner troubles with her sloppy fake tan by carrying on with the evening and even tweeting about it later on "Eyeliner going in the bin". The writer also talks about how their opinion changed from disliking Claudia whilst she presented such programs as Strictly Come Dancing and The Great British Bake Off to admiring her courage to accept her dishevelled look.
The writer of the magazine then goes on to write about how to prevent disasters like Claudia's from happening or at least try to. The writer talks about her own experiences, recommends products, gives some tips on makeup.
I picked this article as it interested me most due to its headline. Makeup really excites me and I always want to learn more about it. It also interested me because I enjoy watching programs that Claudia Winkleman presents and to see her have this catastrophe intrigued me, therefore I wanted to read the entire article and I became attached.
Annotated Magazine Cover
Title of magazine: The title of the magazine is "More". The placing of the title is a generic convention as most magazines have the title here so that when the reader looks it is the first word they read. Also the sizing of the title is large so that the reader knows exactly what magazine they are about to read.
Price: The price is top left hand corner and reads "WOW! We're only... 85p". The language used to display the price is to reel in the customer to make them buy it because it is so cheap. The language is persuasive and true therefore gives a good effect. This is also a generic convention as most magazines like to advertise their prices as cheap so that they gain more readers.
Front page picture: The main front page picture is of Katy Perry. This is good for target audience because fans of Katy Perry are more than likely to buy this magazine. The main front picture is a generic convention as it is a good way to catch the readers eye and really draw them in.
Advertisements of fashion: The left hand side of the magazine cover shows a ray of clothing for "Valentines Buys". This is a great thing to put on the front of the magazine to give the reader an insight to what is inside.
Target audience: I think the target audience for this magazine is mainly women and girls. I think this because all the cover of the magazine has female related pictures spread across it such as the clothing. I believe that More magazine have targeted their audience very well.
The Guilty
The Guilty is a new television crime drama on ITV about a 4 year old boy who went missing. The story line is to find out who killed him, or how he died. The series only one episode in starting on Thursday 5th September, is extremely tense and intriguing displaying the events taking place to find the vanished infant.
The recently aired drama stars Tamsin Greig (DC Maggie Brand) as head detective in charge of the case. The mother of the boy missing is acted tremendously by Katherine Kelly (Claire Reid). The series will infold the story and happenings of finding out how Claire's son was killed or taken and who committed this crime.
Below is a full cast list.
The series drama was produced by Hartswood Films and ITV 1 and was distributed by Independent Television (ITV).
Below is a newspaper review of The Guilty.
The main characters are Tamsin Greig as DC Maggie Brand, Katherine Kelly as Claire Reid and Darren Boyd as Daniel Reid.
Tamsin Greig plays the serious detective who is head of the team searching for the 4 year old. Tamsin has been in numerous TV programs and dramas, films and she has also done some theatre. Katherine Kelly acts as the lost child's mum. Katherine is most commonly know for being in Coronation Street as Becky McDonald but she has also done some other small appearances too. Darren Boyd plays the father of Callum the lost 4 year old. Darren has achieved a BAFTA award for Best Comedy Performance along with some other nominations for starring in Television and Films.
I watched the very first episode of The Guilty. I found it very touching and real. All of the main characters were strong actors and played out the story well. The first episode consisted of the finding of the young boy after 5 years of him being missing, it also included some hints using flashbacks to the time leading up to his disappearance. I enjoyed this drama a lot as it really grabbed me and reeled me in. I liked it so much that I will be watching next weeks episode and carrying on with the entire series.

Media Representation
"Representation refers to the construction in any medium (especially the mass media) of aspects of ‘reality’ such as people, places, objects, events, cultural identities and other abstract concepts. Such representations may be in speech or writing as well as still or moving pictures." This is what http://users.aber.ac.uk/dgc/Modules/FM34120/represent.html interprets the meaning of media representation.
This reflects on how the media represents a character, place or objects. Media representations can be in any form understanding this representation means distinguishing the difference between speaking, words and television as representations of media.
Below is a diagram which helps make clear how media is represented.

Three most interesting and helpful resources.
After browsing through Blogger I found three very interesting also helpful resources.
The first resource I found useful was the How to Create a Blog on Blogger. I found this most interesting and helpful because it described extremely well how to set up and blog. The step by step guide provided was clear and allowed you to easily set up your very own blog simply and then function alone. The second resource I believe helped me was Your AS Media Bridging Unit. This page was massively beneficial because it displayed all information on what to do for the bridging task accurately and clearly. the links on this specific page were most useful as they saved me time.
The last resource on blogger which I think was rather valuable was Exemplar post 4: Annotating a magazine cover. This is because I gathered many tips on this page to help me when I move on to annotating my magazine cover. It covered all areas that I should notice and comment on to help me achieve high in Media Studies.
